January 15th, 2011 Pink goes in for a c-section and we bring home 13 puppies!
We were expecting 7-8 puppies and we ended up with 13!
Pink started going into labor late on January 13th.  I stayed up with her through the night but no contractions.  On January 14th I took her into the vet to just make sure everything was okay.  We did an X-ray and the vet could make out 10 skulls.  Yikes!  We were expecting 7-8 puppies from the ultrasound.  The vet sent us home but gave us his home phone number just in case of an emergency.  We went home and our friend Amy Dart came over for moral support.  We stayed up with Pink the entire night, she was definitely in labor but wasn't having any contractions.  By 6:00 am we were getting worried.  So we packed Pink up and rushed her to our vet Barney and Russum in Fairfield.  The vet techs were just getting to work but they were already prepared for us.  We did a quick ultrasound just to make sure all the puppies were still okay.  The vet tech was able to detect heart beats!  We started prepping Pink for surgery and as soon as our vet, Dr. Russum, got the office Pink was on the table and prepped for surgery.

Marcel and I were in the deliver room along with our friend Amy and a small group of vet techs.  The first puppy came out and the real work started!  Within ten minutes the room was a buzz everyone with their own puppy under the warming lamps trying to revive them, getting them to the oxygen, suctioning their noses and mouths.  The puppies kept coming and we kept working on them.  At points each of us had two puppies that we were working on.  When all was said and done we had 13 puppies, 9 girls and 4 boys all survived!
February 20th, 2011 Puppies first outing!
We took all 13 puppies to our training club for their first outing.
It was a lot of work but we managed to get all 13 puppies in the van so we could take them to our training club.  They got to watch the big dogs work, hear gun fire and meet lots of new people.  All the puppies did really well!
April 4th, 2011 It is with a very heavy heart that we say goodbye to our sweet boy Ajax (BIMBS GRCH CH Norcal's Australian Ajax).

He was lost today in a very tragic accident and we are both very devastated.

I will miss you my sweet boy, there will never be a dog quite like you.   You were a one of a kind, a gentle but proud should.  You were goofy and loyal and happy to be alive.  I will miss you so much, I hope you are somewhere running on the beach. I love you.

SEPARATE LIFETIMES

We who choose to surround ourselves
with lives even more temporary than our
own, live within a fragile circle;
easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps,
we would still live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only
certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan....

April 30th, 2011 Pink finishes her UKC Rally 3 title and Luna takes a Best of Breed!
Our first UKC show of the year and it was a busy one.  Obedience, rally and conformation!
Pink finished the last leg of her UKC Rally 3 title with another 1st place!  We NQed in Open Obedience because we made a mistake on the broad jump.  Not too bad for only being back in training for a couple of weeks!  Luna wins the GRCH class and Best of Breed.
May 1st, 2011 Luna get her first leg towards a Rally 1 title, wins Best of Breed and gets a Total Dog Award!
Pink also got her first 8 points towards her Rally Champion title, only 92 more to go.
I decided to enter Luna in the Rally trial even though we have never practiced for it and I have never handler her in obedience.  She did really well and the only points we lost were because of a mistake I made.  She also went on to win Best of Breed which means she got a UKC Total Dog award!
April 30th, 2011 Congratulations to Lesya and D'Cash of Norcal's on the East Coast for winning their first Best of Breed!
It  was their first time at a show and they did awesome!
Lesya wasn't sure if she should enter Cash because he is still such a goofy puppy but I am sure glad she did.  On the second show he took Best Male, Best of Winners and Best of Breed!  Way to go guys!
July 30th, 2011 Sway jumps 17' in Big Air and 5'8" in Extreme Vertical!!

Norcal's Ezy Brzy aka Sway from our "E" litter owned by our good friend Lance is really taking a liking to the sport of dock diving!  Pink better watch out she's coming after that record!

July 24th-25th, 2011 Very successful 6 show weekend!
The Norcal's crew comes home with some impressive wins.  The youngsters of Norcal's get their feet wet in the show ring.

We had a very exhausting but awesome weekend at the GCHH UKC show. There was a nice ABD showing and we did well! Luna took 2 Best of Breeds and 2 Group 2s, Frak took 2 Best Males and won his class 4 out of 6 shows. Fuchsia took 2 Best Females and I think she won her class in all 6 shows. Pink went Reserve CH in 5 out of 6 shows and finished the weekend with a Best Brood Bitch with Frak and Fuchsia!
Pink wins the Brood Bitch class with Fuchsia and Frak

August 3rd - 5th, 2011 Solano County Fair - Dock Diving
Three new Norcal's dogs made their dock jumping debut.

Norcal's Epic Tymez from our "E" litter is absolutely in love with this new sport.  He hasn't quite figured out how to jump out yet but he did have some nice 7' jumps, everyone starts somewhere.  Chaos from our "C" litter owned by Debbie D also came out and really enjoyed herself. She was jumping off the dock, no toy required!  Fuchsia made a few successful jumps but she isn't quite sold on this sport yet. Pink finished 7th overall for the weekend with a 19'1" jump!!

October 28th, 2011 Gateway Nationals, Day 1
Two agility trials, two rally trials, two conformation shows, obedience and lure coursing.  Yes, that is all in one day, over 15 hours of dog show!

Day one is off to a great start. Luna finishes first in obedience novice with a score of 191.5.  She also finished her URO1 with two legs of rally with 100 out 100 and 2nd for high in trial out of over 83 other dogs (hit went to a malinois). She also got her first leg of her agility title but knocked a bar in the second trial.  She absolutely loved Lure Coursing and we got the first leg for her coursing aptitude certificate.  I also had a successful day with my friend's patterdale who I handled for Obedience and agility.  She passed both agility trials and her obedience trial, now she is one leg in obedience and rally away from being the first Patterdale Terrier to earn a UKC Super Dog.
Amy and Luna head to the UKC Gateway Nationals in Gray Summit, Missouri for a three day show that will consist of Rally-o, lure coursing, obedience, agility, conformation and if there is time dock jumping!
End of day one Tara, Amy and Luna. All exhausted after 15 hours of dog showing!
Luna takes first place in her obedience class under Judge Sheryl Peterson
October 29th, 2011 Gateway Nationals, Day 2
Two more agility trials, two rally trials, two conformation shows, obedience and lure coursing.  Yes, we did it all again.

Day two was another succesful day!  We trialed under Judge Cindy Leung in obedience and she was a tough but fair judge.  Not quite the scores I was looking for but both dogs Q'ed with Luna getting a 189.5 and Tara getting a 187.5. Tara Qed in agility making her the 1st patterdale superdog!!! Luna Qed in agility. Both finished lure coursing.  Luna got a perfect 100 in rally and High in Trial over 83 other dogs!
Luna wins High in Trial!
Group sit from the Novice C class
Day 2 was a success for Luna!
Very tired Luna after two long days of showing.
October 30th, 2011 Gateway Nationals, Day 3
A more mellow day with only 2 agility trials, 2 rally trials, 2 conformation shows and lure coursing.
Luna got another perfect 100 in Rally missing high in trial by just a couple of seconds.  She did a 97 in the first trial, almost a perfect routine but she knocked a cone over on a figure 8.  She passed both agility trials with pretty nice scores and finished her last leg of her lure coursing title.  In all we came home with three new titles and 2 legs towards her U-CD!  What a fun weekend!!

November 13th D'Cash of Norcal's finished his URO1
Cash is from our "D" litter (Malo x Sugar) and is owned and trained by Lesya in New York

Congratulations to Lesya and Cash for the earning the first of many titles!  This is a fantastic working team and we can't wait to see what they do in the future.  Lesya also finished a UCD with her beautiful German Shepherd Dezzy.  Congratulations on a fantastic weekend!!
October 23rd Force of Nature of Norcal's aka Fauna does Splash dogs!
Fauna is from our "F" litter and is loved and trained by Shanda in Florida.

Congratulations to Shanda and Fauna for popping off some nice 7'+ jumps!  Fauna is definitely a water dog.  I can't wait to see what this pair does in the coming years.
November, Norcal's Blazin' Wildfire earns her Schutzhund Tracking title.
Blaze is trained and loved by Lisa McKay in Canada.
Congratulations to Lisa and Blaze for earning their tracking title.  Lisa was a little disappointed that they decided last minute not to trial for their Sch1 but they came away with a successful weekend.  We can't wait to see what this team does in 2012.
