Working and Conformation Show
Norcal's Sherlock Australian Ajax finishes his NKC Championship with a Best in Show under Judge Terry Aguas!
We found out the dates for the show the weekend before but we decided to head out and support NKC in California.  Natalie and Luciallno Oliva did a great job of putting this show on.  This is one of our favorite shows to attend in CA because there are so many fun things to do.  Last years show was canceled so we were very happy to hear this years show was a go!  This was the first time any NWDA (national working dog association) events had been offered in California so we were excited to try for some new titles.  We had a pretty succesful weekend and we can't wait for the October show!
Norcal's You've Been Charmed Wins her Class and two Reserve Females
This was Charms first time in the show ring and she did pretty well, with a little more practice I think she will do very well.
Conformation Events
NWDA Events
Norcal's Malo Rojo earned the NWDA BST (breed suitablity test) under Judge Natalie Oliva.
The BST is a test the combines a temperament evaluation, obedience evaluation, protection evaluation and a conformation/health evaluation specific to the American Bulldog.
Norcal's Pretty n' Pink earns her  NWDA OBT (obedience title) under Judge Natalie Oliva.
The OBT is a test the combines a temperament evaluation and obedience evaluation.  The obedience includes heeling, heeling through a crowd, sit in motion, down in motion, long down out of site, retrieve, and jumps.
Qiana Du Loups Du Soleil earns her  NWDA WST (Working Suitablity Test) under Judge Natalie Oliva.
The WST is the same thing as the BST but is open to all breeds and does not require the health or conformation aspect of the BST
May 14th -16th Splash in Memory of Cash
Dock Diving Event with Splash Dogs

Pink continues to improve at this sport!  She set a new breed record with a jump of 18'3" and she did it in the Finals!  She jumped very well all weekend earning a couple of first place ribbons and a several more second through fourht place ribbons.  She ended up placing 4th place overall in the open finals!  She even made it onto the evening news!
June 7th, 2010 Malo earns his PSA PDC
and takes High in Trial for PSA 1!

The "retired" Malo got his PSA PDC this Saturday in Orroville! Congratulations Marcel and Malo! Not bad considering they haven't done any training since the Mondio Nationals. They went for their PSA1 on Sunday, passed obedience but Malo decided he wasn't going to out on the 2nd scenario. Everyone else had the same problem and in the end Malo ended up taking High in Trial for the PSA 1.
March 27 -28, 2010 Mondio Ring National Championships
Marcel and Malo compete at the the Mondio Ring National Championships in Oxnard.  Unfortunatly they did not get enough points to pass but anyone that has trialed especially at this level knows the amount of time, energy and dedication it takes just to get out there and trial.

June 24th - 27th  Solano County Fair Splash Dogs
Another fun weekend with Splash dogs!  Ajax made his dock jumping debut and Pink finished 9th place in the pro finals.  She was also featured on the front page of the Vallejo Times Harold.

We had a great weekend, Ajax debuted with a 10" jump... well more like a plop!  He did redeem himself throughout the weekend with several 9' jumps.  He also earned his first splash dogs title in the splash division.  This is a good starting point considering Pink started jumping around the same distance.  Pink had anther good weekend earning several legs toward her senior bronze title. She was a crowd favorite and was even featured on the cover of the local newspaper!  Qiana and Zin also jumped this weekend, both making it into the open finals.
July 15th-18th  California State Fair
Pink earns her Senior Silver title and Ajax earns his Splash Bronze title!  Qiana does super vertical practice and reaches 6'2" (the world record is 7'8").

It was a hot weekend perfect for some time in the pool!  Pink did well, even being handled in the junior division by our friend's daughter, Halie.  Pink and Halie took 2nd place in the junior finals!  Ajax had another fun weekend and continued to jump in the splash division.  Qiana did great at super Vertical with a 6'2" jump, I think this will be her sport.  She also set a new personal best with a 16'+ jump in big air.  Epic also got to try his paw at dock diving.
July 23rd-25th  UKC Conformation Show

July 31- August 8th  Splash Dogs Fly in Memory of Primo
First ever bully breed final!  First UKC sanctioned Splash Dogs event
This was a very special event in memory of a very special APBT named Primo.  Qiana jumped an incredible 7' in super vertical taking 1st place in that event and putting her in the #3 spot for 2010. She jumped 6'10 in the second super vertical taking 4th place behind two other dogs that jumped 6'10".  Pink took 3rd place in the all bully final!  She also earned her UKC USJ title and is shy 20 points from her USJCH title.  Qiana broke her personal best with a jump of 20'1"!  Qiana took 4th place in the open finals and Zinnia took 6th!

This was an incredible event it was so awesome to see all the bullies come out and show the crowds what they are really all about.  The pit bull only final was so fun to watch and I am really honored that Pink and I were able to compete in that event.  Pink jumped very well all weekend earning her fist UKC dock jumping title and is very close to getting her CH dock diving title.  We also were there to witness our good friend Ashley and her Dutch shepherd break the super vertical record with an amazing 7'10" jump!  The previous record of 7'8" was set more than two years ago!
This is a video of the bully finals that I made

September 4th - 6th UKC Norcal All Breed Conformation Show - 6 show weekend!

Norcal's Chunky Monkey took 2 Best Novice Puppy in Shows and 1 Reserve Best Novice Puppy!  It looks like she is going to be following in her father's footsteps.

Saturday - Norcal's Chunky Monkey 4 Dessert took Best Puppy in show today under judge Joyce Lea-Hanson! May 23, 2010 UKC Conformation Show Loomis
Luna wins CH of CH and Ajax wins Best of Breed!
September 18th - 19th San Diego Dog Fanciers Agility Trial
It was a long drive to San Diego but well worth it!  Pink made her agility debut and she absolutely loved it.
She earned two legs towards her UAG1 title with scores of 197 out of 200 and two first places in the Novice A division!  The last trial of the weekend was going great but she knocked a bar on the last jump so it was an NQ.  Hopefully she will finish her agility title at the Gateway Nationals in Missouri.
September 25th - 26th SLODOG UKC Obedience Trial - Santa Maria, CA
Pink takes High in Trial the first trial of the weekend with a score of 197 out of 200 to finish her UCD!
The Santa Lucia Open Dog Obedience Club (SLODOG) put on a great trial!  We met a lot of nice people and saw some nice dogs.  Pink took high in trial to finish her UCD.  Zin, the young malinois, tried her hand at the none licensed class and took 1st place with a 196 out of 200.  It would have been a near perfect score but on the recall she decided to do a ring recall and go between my legs.  Pink also earned two legs towards her URO2 title with a first and second place.  We also tried our hand at open and she did all the exercises well except the long jump where she forgot the jump part and walked it instead.  She did perfect on both out of site stays and the retrieves so I think with a little more work we can get her UCDX next year!
October 29th -31st 2010 UKC Gateway Nationals - Purina Events Center Gray Summit, Missouri
Pink earns 4 new titles in four different sports in one show weekend!
This was an incredible event put on by the UKC at an incredible venue in Missouri.  Halloween weekend Pink and I flew to Missouri for the UKC Gateway Nationals. It was a three day event that consisted of Agility, Rally-O, lure coursing, dock diving, weight pull and conformation. We did everything but weight pull and came home with four new titles and 2 out of 3 legs of the third! Lure coursing was a blast and if anyone gets the chance to try it out you should.

Pink earned her coursing apptitude title (CA) in lure coursing, her united master jumper title (UMJ) in dock diving, her agility 1 title (UAG1) and her Rally 2 title (URO2) with two out of three legs for her URO3  with scores of 98 out of 100 and 97 out of 100. She also broke her record in dock diving with a jump of 21'01"!
The event was at the Purina Events Center in Missouri. It had to be one of the best dog venues I have ever been to. The dock diving pool was an in-ground heated pool that was kept at a comfortable 78 degrees. There was a huge open field for lure coursing and all the other events were held indoors. My only complaint was that the set the Rally Obedience ring right next to the agility ring and both events were going at the same time talk about crazy distractions especially for crazy high drive dogs that prefer agility. There were several breed specialities held in conjunction with the Gateway Nationals including a Cannan dog Specialty which was neat to see. Cannan dogs are a semi-feral dog from Israel similar to a Dingo. There was a breed that I have never seen in person called the Norwegian Lundehund. These were bred to hunt Puffins and are the only breed of dog that can spread its front legs to 90 degree angles; it can also bend its head all the way back so that the top of its head is touching its spine.
December 3rd and 4th, 2010 Silver State APBT Weight Pull- Oak Leaf Ranch, Penryn, CA.
Pink finishes her United Weight Pull (UWP) title with two qualifying scores under Judges Jason Crociana and Nancy Best!
Pink finshed the last two legs of her UWP title with a pull of just over 900lbs on rails!  This has not been Pink's favorite sport but we spent some time training in November and it definitely paid off.  Pink has naturally good form she just needed the motivation to pull.  She was definitely capable of pulling more weipht but I wanted to end things on a good note so I withdrew after 900lbs.  Next year we may start working toward her UWPCH title.
December 4th, 2010
Pink finishes all of the requierments to become a UKC Super Dog!  She is the third American Bulldog and the first female and youngest AB to ever achieve this distinction!
A UKC Super dog requires a dog to achieve a title in the areas of weight pull, obedience, rally-O,  conformation and agility!
